What are Skills Bootcamps?
Skills Bootcamps are flexible, government-funded training courses lasting up to 16 weeks. They help adults aged 19+ gain sector-specific skills and fast-track to a job interview or progress in their current role.
Are there eligibility criteria?
Learners must be aged 19 or over (by 31st August 2025), have the right to work in the UK and live in the Liverpool City Region (Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens or Wirral. More information on eligibility is available here 
How much does it cost?
For individuals accessing a Skills Bootcamp independently or those self-employed, Skills Bootcamps are free. Employers pay a small contribution if they upskill existing staff – SMEs pay 10% and larger employers 30% of the overall cost
What sectors are Skills Bootcamps available in?
Digital, Construction, Green Skills, Health & Life Science, HGV Driving, Early Years, Creative Industries, Leadership & Management, and more.  
What Skills Bootcamps are currently available?
Check out the course directory to see what is currently available – new Skills Bootcamps are added regularly. 
Do I need prior experience?
Most Skills Bootcamps require no prior experience, but some may have prerequisites (e.g., certain qualifications or work experience). Check on the course directory or directly with the training provider
What happens after the course?
If you’re accessing the course independently, you’ll receive careers guidance for up to 6 months and support with a job interview with an employer. Some Skills Bootcamps also lead to an apprenticeship. If your employer is supporting you, you’ll be able to take your new skills to your workplace and take on new responsibilities.
I’m an employer looking to recruit new staff – can I get involved?
Yes, you can partner with Skills Bootcamps to offer interviews to individuals who have recently finish training – at zero cost to yourselves
I’m an employer looking to upskill existing staff – can I get involved?
Yes, existing employees can attend a Skills Bootcamp if their role requires upskilling or retraining. Upon completion of training the employee must be able to take on new responsibilities within the workplace which we’ll need you to confirm
I’m self-employed with an existing business – can I get involved?
Yes, if you’re looking to develop your existing self-employed business you can join a Skills Bootcamp. You’ll need to create an action plan at the end of training and be able to provide evidence of how the Skills Bootcamp has helped your business to secure new work or contracts  
I’m an employer but I can’t see the training I need in Skills Bootcamps currently available – can you help with this?
